From Gracie to de Gournay, floral hand painted wallpapers are having a moment, again:
We’re constantly attracted and curious about pattern and color, and floors are no exception. Moroccan motifs and intricate patterns are a part of our daily design lexicon, and one of our favorite sources is Mosaic House. So if you’re in the market for beautifully hand crafted Moroccan tile, this place is your go-to! We were visiting today to find a new tile for Rayman’s kitchen floor. We think it’s going to be the perfect touch. While looking through their extensive collection we learned a little bit about the process. Each tile is hand made using pigment that is applied using this metal guide. That process is just one used for the cement tile, but as you might have guessed they also make mosaics by carefully sculpting glazed square tile into the desired pattern.
Looking forward to Spring 2013 we’re seeing a lot more blues and emeralds. We are also feeling a reach back to nature with a “cabinet of curiosities vibe”. A departure from modern, we see the always beautiful hand-painted Gracie wallpapers take the spotlight. Looking for a gift? Our chartreuse rhino cruet will add an unexpected and charming pop to your kitchen.
