The proceeds from the sale of these pieces will go towards the purchase, installation and upkeep of solar panels, batteries, solar lanterns, and a water filtration system at an orphanage in Bhaktapur, Nepal. The electricity will allow the kids to have lighting, clean water, refrigeration, computers as well as other basic, fundamental sanitary conveniences. The improvement will be profound. And in the long run, measurable, as we see their health and schooling improve. Funds will also go towards education, a cause that will always be a top priority for Kids of Kathmandu.

In the home of designer, Carlos Miele, books are piled high under a console. It’s a cue to relax.

You don’t have to fill every corner. A room designed by Ilse Crawford leaves lots of voided space.

A peaceful still life by photographer  Idha Lindhag.

This is one of my favorite rooms. I know I’ve used this photo before. it’s by Melanie Acevedo and it incorporates equal parts ease and style.

Bohemian style marries fiscal sensibility. I never know what John Robshaw is thinking, but he’s done it again. Partnering with Duralee, he’s read my mind and created the perfect fabric collection at the perfect price. My hero!

This is one of my secret sources for art. They do huge blow ups of photographs that range from iconic to poetic to humorous. Yellow Corner is always my first stop when I’m looking for something unexpected to enliven a static space or to simply make a room feel more finished.
